Jamaica. Portland. Blue Mountains: above Clydesdale, just off trail to Morces Gap.

Habitat
Disturbed moist transition forest - with planted eucalyptus and pines. Also saw Miconia quadrangularis, M. laevigata, M. thaeazans, Heterotrichum umbellatum. Locally common. Clay soil.

Description
Small tree 5 m tall; flowers pale pink, anthers bright yellow (zygomorphic), turning red with age. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fertile.
