Moist cloud forest. Melastomes: Miconia dodecandra, M. quadrangulris, M. tetrandra, Mecranium spp., Meriania spp., Conostegia montana, Blakea trinerva. Common. Clay soil.

Description
Tree to ca. 14 m tall; branches sympodial/plagiotropic; flowers pale pink with bright yellow anthers (turning red with age). Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
