    Moist diverse forest on limestone. Melastomes noted: Charanthus fadyenii, Mecranium amygdalinum, Tetrazygia hispida, T. pallens; others at lower elevations. Locally common.

  • Description

    Tree to ca. 5-10 m tall; with gray and vertically furrowed bark; flowers bright red, anthers yellowish. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
