Habitat
Level fell-field with gravelly soil developed between large boulders. Associated with Leucopoa kingii, Erigeron compositus, Thlaspi montanum, Arabis lyallii, Mertensia olongifolia, Androsace septentrionalis, Polemonium pulcherrimum, Ribes montegenum, Ribes cereum, Poa secunda, Heuchera parviflora, Achillea millefolium, Carex sp., and Poa pattersonii. Common. Granite substrate.

Corolla yellow, red when immature. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
