Habitat
Western bluff of the Bronx River; deciduous forest, consisting of mostly spontaneous native trees, but with some planted and spontaneous aliens also; the forest formerly dominated by Tsuga and Kalmia.

Description
Shrub 1m tall, the largest stem ca 3 cm diam; bark brown, peeling in thin strips; leaf blade abaxials light green; infructescence glutinous. There are several mature plants of this species along this bluff. They are mostly small shurbs like this specimen. It is not evident whether they were planted or are spontaneous. The habitat is perfect for the species and would be expected here. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
