    Western bluff of the Bronx River; deciduous forest, consisting of mostly spontaneous native trees, but with some planted and spontaneous aliens also; the forest formerly dominated by Tsuga and Kalmia.

  • Description

    Tree 7 m tall, the trunk double from the base, the largest stem ca 9 cm diam; bark smooth, grey; branches horizontal. There is no evidence of this tree having been planted.
