    Terrestrial System. Forested Uplands--Beech-maple mesic forest with several chestnut oak, hemlock and white pine.

  • Description

    Tree 7 m tall, the trunk ca 10 cm diam, branched near the base; bark brown, smooth. This is the largest chestnut tree in the area and the only one ever seen fertile. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
