Habitat
Semi-tropic zone and within fog area. Tree growing in rather sterile strong clay soil. Common forest tree at altitude given.

Description
Specimen 30 ft. high, no in. in base diameter. Bark gray, slightly rugose near base. In full flower and a few green fruits; flowers pure white or rarely tinged pink-purple. 30-35 mm diameter. Stamens strontian yellow, anthers ochre-chrome. Leaves slight lustrous on upper surface. Wood when cut, giving off incense like odor. Growing to 50 or more feet. Flowers very agreeable fragrant.
