Dominican Republic. Santiago Rodríguez. Cordillera Central, SW of Moncion, 0.6 km SW of La Meseta on road to La Leonor.

Habitat
Low elevation forest of Pinus occidentalis. With Mecranium acuminatum, Miconia laevigata, Sabal, Senna, Acacia, Abrus, Simarouba glauca, Kalanchoe, Psidium guajava, Casearia arborea, Rhynchelytrum repens, Lantana, Polygala grandiflora, Chamaesyce, Anemia, Hypericum, Turnera, Badiera penaea, Ilex, Centrosema, Cuphea, Euphorbia, Croton, Galactia, Chamaecrista, Wedelia, Trema lamarckiana, Gouania, Ambrosia. Occasional (but this species becoming much more common farther SW along the road, at higher elevations).

Description
Shrub to 2 m tall. Flowers with petals and anthers white; berries purple-black. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
