    Tree 25 m tall, the trunk 1.5 m or more diam; lower bark very rough, dark grey to black, deep furrowed, the younger bark with wide, flat, grey ridges (ski trails). This is one of the largest trees in the Garden now. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
