Ground layer grassy, not grazed, with "clean" aspect due to sparsity of the usual tall herbs and dwarf shrubs of a cerrado ground layer. All shrubs (incl. those below 1/2 m tall) spaced 1-3 m apart; shrubs over 1 m tall spaced 2-4 n apart. Deep latosol without pebbles, brovmish-red at surface, subsoil bright brick-red.
