Braunia canescens Schimp. ex E.Britton ( type )

  • Location

    Bolivia.

  • Collection Notes

This appears to be a mixed collection. Data present: "Specimens received[?] HHR Th[?]", "HHR", "Mandon's 1641". [HHR probably H. H. Rusby]

  • Specimen Notes

This may be a mixed collection of two syntypes. There are two, very small folded sheets within a small packet. On one sheet is written "HHR", on the other sheet is written, "Mandon's 1641". Specimen material has come out of the sheets and some is loose in the outer packet. On outer packet is written, "Specimens received[?]. HHR. Th[?]". NY specimens, barcodes 913943 and 913944, are in a packet with an annotation, "ISOLECTOTYPE Rev. by Efrain De Luna, Nov. 1991 Duke University Herbarium". Five specimen packets - NY barcodes 913942, 913943, 913944, 913945, 913946 - are contained in one larger packet. On this outer, larger packet is written, "Notes specimens used for comparison with 3153." Also adhered to this outer packet is an annotation, probably by De Luna, which reads, "This packet contains different specimens: 1- unidentified (with description) 2- two little packets with MANDON 1641 (TYPE) 3- Rusby 3153 (TYPE) 4- Probably Mandon 62 (cf OTU 228) Duke University Herbarium". There are also two sheets of notes included in the packet and a loose Rusby Flora of South America label for specimen 3153.
