Edge of freshwater marsh in very wet soil.

Description
Tree 12 m tall, the trunk 1 m diam; bark deeply furrowed, appearing to twist up the trunk; main branches short and very thick; leafy shoots pendulous, appearing more green than yellow in contrast to other Salix babylonica at this time.
