Habitat
On scrubby banks by road and on sides of stream gullies. Steep open grassy hillsides with scattered settlements and areas of scrub on steep banks and in stream gullies. Locally abundant.

Description
Shrub 1.5-3.5 m high. Young shoots and older wood with fine spines. Leaves green above, white beneath. Corolla violet. Anthers yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
