Haiti. Sud. Massif de la Hotte, western group, just south of Sou Bwa; along road to Parc National Pic Macaya and Ville Formon.

Habitat
Only a few individuals remaining from a large population, now destroyed due to clearing for agriculture. Disturbed "rak bwa," i.e., moist forest on limestone. Uncommon.

Description
Shrub to 1.5 m tall; flowers with reflexed rose-red petals, anthers white; some leaves red tinged beneath. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
