Habitat
Slopes on limestone, canopy 4-5 m from ground, somewhat deciduous. Large areas of downed trees overgrown with Pteridium aquilinum suggesting disturbance such as a hurricane.

Shrub or small tree. Leaves lighter under; calyx dirty white, petals white, stamens pink and purple.
