United States of America. Utah. Washington Co. Hillsides on south slope of Beaverdam Mountains, 7 miles north-northeast of Utah-Arizona boundary, a little more than 2 miles above Castle Cliff, on U.S. highway 91, between St George and Mesquite (Nevada).

Habitat
Open, rocky, gravelly, granitic hillsides. Joshua tree zone, at lower limit of juniper and sagebrush, but above the Larrea community.

Description
Aromatic, thorny shrub 3-4 dm. tall; flowers blue-purple. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
