on siltstone bedrock and low alluvial terrace. Mature Nothofagus fusca-N. menziesii forest with Weinmannia, Dicksonia squarrosa, Coprosma australe, Pseudopanax crassifolium and Pseudowintera colorata. abundant. trunk of small (8 cm DBH) N. fusca in forest at river margin.
