Habitat
Mixed broadleaf and conifer forests on in relatively dry region with thin, light soil and abundant exposed rock; dominant species include Pinus kochiana, Juniperus and Rhus coriaria in drier sites and Ostrya carpinifolia and Quercus in wetter sites.
