Municipio Mascote; 20 km east of Camaca, 9 km west of Santa
Luzia do Salobro on road to Canavieiras; edge of Rio Belem.
^Tall forest with cacao plantation at the base. Elev. pGm.
Clump of about 30 hollow culms, to 10m tall, 2.5cm diarn.,
erect at . first, then growing into trees and leaning on them
for support. New culms light green, nearly covered with
white retrorse hairs, villous. Culm leaves: sheaths light ,
green with retrorse villous hairs; blades reflexed. Pro-
bably a young clump of a species with large culms at matu-
rity.
