Municipio Itajuipe: U km north of Uniao Queimada on
road to Pimenteira, Brazo do Norte of the Serra Geral,
Fazenda Pao Doce. Densely forested slopes, of mountain.
Elev. 290m. Bamboo with solid culms that creep over
rocks in stream and along the forest floor, rooting
at the nodes and sending branches up into the trees.
This bamboo is throughout the forest, intertwined with
the vegetation. New culm leaves stramineous : sheath
long, scabrous, extending beyond the node above; blade
erect.
