  • Description

    tree. Twiggy tree, or shrub to c. 5m with rather smooth stems, branching from near the base. Leaves leathery dark green glossy above, paler beneath. Flowers borne on the bare branches below the terminally clustered leaves. Flowers borne in a fleshy flattened globose inflated bract, usually yellow sometimes turning orange.
