Locally common, large, elegant riverside tree to 15 m x 60 cm; bark pale grey, smoothish, appearing almost corky and swollen like a fat-person's leg. Regular branching from 1.5 m upwards; leaflets bottle green; young leaflets and particularly sapling growth much larger than mature leaflets. Seeds dark red, very hard, retained within mesocarp until it is black and rotten and exocarp degenerates. Wood very hard. Wood sample, fruit & seed separate, photographs G.P.
