accurate to within a range of ca 10 m). Gallery forest on
lower (present) floodplain of the Blackwater River, with
Taxodium distichum, Platanus occidentalis, Liquidambar
styraciflua, Carpinus caroliniana, Quercus, Carya and
Betula; very sandy alluvium.
Tree ca 18 m tall, the trunk 80 cm diam; bark grey/black,
deeply furrowed, the ridges irregular, flat and scaly.
