Description
Tree ca 15 m tall, the trunk ca 30 cm dbh; bark nearly black throughout, basally with long, vertical "V" shaped furrows and long vertical, flat-topped ridges; young leaves completely gray; bud scales not glutinous; female catkins pendulous.
