Description
Large tree 30 m tall, the trunk 62.5 cm diam; bark thick, brownish-grey, the ridges somewhat flat, narrow, the furrows narrow, even when moderately young (bark appearing "ropey"); bud scales yellow, lustrous, glutinous. See Atha & Adamsons 6134 for specimen of same individual with male catkins.
