Location
Puerto Rico. Rte. 120, Reserva Forestal Maricao, on ridgetop in forest above road ca. 1 km above the intersection with Rte. 366 and just below the turnoff to "New Covered Basketball Court Campamento Santana". Entry to forest at drainage culvert on north side of road, about 57 m E of the Km 12, 11 m, 3 marker which is on the opposite (south) side of the road.

Habitat
Bamboo in more or less natural, somewhat dry forest on ridge above the road. Common here but not seen at all in the forest below. . .

Description
. . .clambering and hanging, entire population in flower and at full anthesis. Some leaves remaining but these showing signs of senescence. Culms several m long, 3-4 mm in diameter, rebranching extensively, the central branch often more robust than the main culm; smaller branches scabrous. internodes ca. 45 cm long. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
