Mexico. Oaxaca. Close to the road running west from the small town of Jalapa de Diaz towards Huautla on the slopes of the valley of the Rio Santo Domingo about 45 km west of the town of Tuxtepec in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Oriental.

Frequent, scattered by roadside and in pastures with Cordia alliodora in this heavily deforested area.
