Cultivated tree growing at edge of main savanna-like park in the center of town. Tree, 12 m tall. Calyx green, petals white, the filaments white for lower 2/3, pink for upper 1/3, the style white for lower 1/2,pink for upper 1/2 at anthesis, mostly pink after anthesis. Aroma of honeysuckle to A. MacFarlane, of abricot to H. Peckham. Aroma pumped from flower on cut branch 1 m long. Flower partially open at 5:00 p.m., fully opened by 7:30 p.m. Voucher for floral aroma study done in collaboration with Givaudan-Roure. Aroma pumped 8:10-9:10 p.m. @ 100 ml /minute.
