Disturbed, lowland moist forest on steep slopes of gully.

Description
Stems solitary, 5m tall, 30 cm diameter. Sheaths not fibrous; petiole 1m long; rachis to 7 m long with 70 pinnae per side, regularly arranged and spreading in one plane. Peduncle 60 cm long; lowest inflorescence staminate, at anthesis, petalspurple, stamens yellow.
