Growing on granitic rock outcrops.

Description
Tree 10 m tall with spreading branches. Trunk branched near base to 15 cm diam. Bark dark brown, deeply furrowed, rogose. Branches light tan. Lvs. coriaceous, dark green, somewhat shiny above with yellow midrib; pale green somewhat shiny beneath. Young buds yellowish. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
