Mexico. Tlaxcala. Peñon del Rosario, 24 km E of APAM, on Tlaxcala-Puebla border.

Habitat
This area has the richest flora within the Apan region. Lower slopes near village of Rosario covered with oak forest (3 dominant spp.). Some madroño mixed in. This zone is followed by mixed oak-pine (2 spp.)-fir forest, Pine and fir to 30 m tall, with madroño, tepozan and many sp. of shrubs and herbs. Two ground orchids found in wet, shady habitat. Area now beging heavily logged for fir. Floristically area probably belongs to Sierra de Puebla, rather than to Apam.
