with trees 10-25 m tall, on sandy soil. Prominent tree speciçs: Tapi rte guianen- ?
sis ("Pa.U. Pombo"), Astronium fcaxinifolium ("Gonçalo Alves"), Tetragastris
altissima ("Amescla"), Caryocjr sp. ("Piqui"), Tabcbuia sp. ("Pafo d' Arco,"),
"Pau Chapada". "Cerrado** (called "Camoo” in this region), lower trees, more open
vegetation with grassy groUndlayer, on sandy'soil: puuiea çrandiflora ("Pau
Terra“), Cura tel la a mericana ("Lixa")V Dimorphandra sp.'("Favelra"), Platonia
insignis ("BacUri"), Parkia sp., Annona cortacea and Several species of
Byrsonima ("Hurlci"). "BabassU forest" with Orbignya martiana and O. eichleri
palms. "Tabuleiro", grassy Helds on clayed soil, inundated during the rainy
