Disturbed areas of semi-deciduous forest.

Description
Shrub 3 m tall; bark stringy. Leaves greenish white beneath. Flowers with very light fragrance of dry hay (2:15 P.M., sunny); corolla bright orange, turning darker with age. Quite a striking species.
