Ecuador. Azuay. The eastern Cordillera, 1-8 km. north of the village of Sevilla de Oro.

Habitat
In some areas the dominant growth, but not even seen with either fls or fruit. (Somewhat later and at higher elevations a few plants, evidently of this same species, were found with flowers.). Very common at about 8300 ft elev.

Description
Spreading roundtopped trees to 5 m. high. Lvs deep green nitid above; brown-pubescent below. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
