Description
Pileus 4-6 cm broad, convex to irregularly convex, dry, very finely subvelutinous to finely subtomentose, dark olive (30F8 to 4F8-5) on disc, (1B-C-D6,5 to 4D6) toward margin, with even margin. NH4: orange on cap and at juncture of flesh and cap. Flesh white, very slowly changing to a pale bronwish pink, with mild odor and bitter taste. Tubes adnate, whitish to pale greenish yellow, unchanging (or possibly rarely pale bluish green in a small section in one) when exposed, with pores pale greenish yellow, becoming olive with age, unchanging. Stipe 5 cm long, 1.5-2 cm broad, tapering downward, strict or curved at base, dry, extremely finely and densely subpruinose (lens), pale greenish yellow above, greenish olive below, disappearing with age and then with dark olive brown maculose spots and olive brown, white at base, with interior white, unchanging above, with bluish green streak in the base of one. Spores ovoid to nearly bean shaped. Hymenial cystidia easily visible as pseudocystidia.
