  • Description

    Pileus 3-7 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, subvelutinous to subtomentose, (6-7E8) at first, then (6D7-6), darkening when bruised. Flesh light yellow, staining blue immediately, with mild odor and taste. Hymenophore tubulose; tubes yellow to yellowish green, bluing immediately; pores deep red, staining blue immediately. Stipe 4-6 cm long, 7-10 mm broad, equal to barely subclavate, dry, reticulate, reddish pruinose masking a yellow ground, deep dark reddish brown with age, with white (?possibly yellow) basal mycelium, with interior yellow, bluing, dark red with age.
