Description
Pileus 3-10 cm broad, convex to plano convex, often becoming depressed on the disc, matted subtomentose at first, +/-glabrous and subrugulose, white at first then becoming a brownish yellow (5C-D7-6), developing an irregular margin. Flesh 7-10 mm thick, pale yellow (4A3), unchanging, exuding a scant watery white latex, with mild odor and mild to slowly subacrid taste. Lamellae subdecurrent to decurrent, subdistant, pale yellow to grayish yellow (4A-B4), exuding a scant watery white latex, unchanging, with even edges. Stipe 3-6 cm long, 1-2.5 cm broad, equal, dry, matted subtomentose, white at first, developing brownish yellow tones with age, with interior becoming hollow, concolorous with pileus, with white basal mycelium. Spores reticulate, so not L. subvellereus.
