  • Description

    Pileus 4.5 cm broad, convex, dry, with short, dispersed, dark brown to black conical warts with pale grayish tan color in between; margin with thick, felty, appendiculate veil remains. Flesh white, changing to orangish red then black, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnexed, white to pale gray, changing to orange red then black when exposed; pores up to 1 mm broad, orange red then black when bruised. Stipe 8 mm long, 1 cm broad, narrower downward, curved, dry, subreticulate-ridged and white, overlain by pale grayish lanose veil remnants; these remnants more pinkish below, dark brown to black toward the base, with interior white, changing to orangish red then black, solid.
