  • Habitat

    Terrace ("tabuleiro") with some swampy areas, soils sandy. High density of slender-trunked trees but canopy discontinuous, few trees exceeding 15-20 m x 30 cm.

    climbing epiphyte. Root-climbing epiphyte, sori brown, roots forming dense masses of fleshy, brittle, multi-chambered, essentially depressed-globose structure approx. 4 cm diam., inhabited by "tapiba" ants.
