Distribution
01011796 01011796 Gilia fiijformis Parry; Gray, Proc. Ain. Acad. lOs 75. 1874* No. 8220, collected May 9, in Silver canyon in the White mountains opposite Laws, Inyo county, growing on slopes in loose gravel. Plentiful locally. As noted % Coville in the report of the Death Valley expedition, the flowers are lemon yel- low, and are not “very open campanulate,” as described in the Synoptical Flora, but appear so when dry and distorted by pres- sure. In the living state they are narrow, cylindrical rather than campanulate. The type was collected in “Southern Utah, on the detritus of volcanic rock.” PLANTS OF CALIFORNIA Inyo County 8220 GILIA F1LIF0RMI8 Parry Silver Canyon in the White mountains east of Laws A.
