Habitat
Growing on a steep slope in valley forest on rich soil.

Description
Tree, 12 m tall. c. 20 cm diam. at breast height. No buttresses. Bark scaling in a fine reticulum. Blaze: bark rather broad, pale brown with hard fibrous rays in soft bast; wood cream, soon darkening. Petals orange-yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
