Habitat
Growing in dry forest. This seems to be an unusual habitat for it as the species is characteristic of wet soils.

Description
Tree, 30 m tall. Trunk 1.2 m in girth 1 m above ground level. Small buttresses at base. Sepals pale greenish cream. Receptacles purple. Flowers with a cough-sweet scent. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
