Venezuela. Near airport clearing, ca. 1 km. SE of base camp on S. side of Cerro de la Neblina.

Habitat
Tropical evergreen lowland forest on flat, infertile soil, many of the trees slender.

Description
Tree 15m tall, 15cm in diameter, common here, others to twice this diam. Sapwood 5cm in width, tan; heartwood hard, chestnut brown. Fruit green, hanging, the peduncles to 1.2m long, very similar in presentation to some Mucuna, e.g. M. argyrophylla.
