  • Habitat

    Campo cerrado on upland (or occasionally forest). Open marsh or dense secondary forest along streams. This habitat: waste ground behind main house of fazenda, in shade of large leguminous tree. Originally cerrado vegetation. Poor soil, reddish-brown fine sand with a little clay.

    Herb with woody base, 2 ft. tall. Fls. light purple, minty odor. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
