Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Unable to find the precise location of the airport, instead georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of Rio Juruena in Mato Grosso, Brazil. Using Google Maps - Satellite View and Terrain View, located River Juruena, a tributary of Rio Tapajós. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line starting at the mouth of the river (at the confluence of Rio Juruena and Rio Tapajós) to the farthest extent of Rio Juruena, then halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint of the river. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint, on the adjacent shore. Input coordinates, linear extent (distance from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of Rio Juruena, 410576 m.), and measurement error (1 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
