This species, represented by rather young specimens, 0CoJӤ along
the western coast of North America from Unalaska to Puget’s Sound.
It is to be distinguished from the other species of the region by its
decidedly flattened stipe and thin blade, presenting a great contrast to
the Alaria distributed under XLI in these respects. It is given a
provisional name until its affinities can be more accurately determined.
