Austria. Carinthia. Kärnten. Karnische Alpen, 7.2 km SSW of the railway station of Kotschach-Mauthen, 3.5 km E of "Flockenpass", valley of the rivulet "Angerbach", forestry road to "Untere Tschintenmuntalm".

  • Habitat

Mixed forest with Fagus sylvatica, Picea abies, and Abies alba. On Fagus sylvatica (bark covered with mosses; shady conditions).

  • Notes (shown on label)

Probably due to the growth under very shady conditions, the material is quite untypical in its appearance. Some strongly divded thalli reach more than 3 cm in length, the upper cortex is rather untypically developed and the shape of the soralia strongly resembles those of Heterodermia speciosa.
