between limestone hills (mogotes). Erect herb; corm subterranean, dish-shaped, ca. 20 cm in
diam., with numerous, short (1-2.5 cm long), finger-like rhizomes; leaf solitary, erect; petioles 1-2
m long, cylindric, soft (air filled), with bands and spinescent screcenceos; blades trisect.-
dissected. Inflorescence basal, ascending; stipe ca. 30 cm long; spathe purplish brown, with
revolute apex; fiuits asymetrical, disc-shaped, blackish.
