    Articulate fleshy small shrubs; stems 25-75 cm, persistent, branched, woody below; upper segments up to 20 x 1 mm; leaves ca. 1mm, each pair forming a short truncate cupule; three perianth-segments winged; wings up to 4 mm, orbicular-ovate; staminodes cil.
